Le designer et architecte suisse Romain Michel Meniere a créé le Berberlodge avec un groupe d'amis du Studio KO, Karl Fournier et Oliver Marty, ainsi que du paysagiste Arnaud Casaus. Situé à 25km de Marrakech, sur un terrain planté d'oliviers, cet hôtel marie l'architecture marocaine locale, à ses collections d'objets et de mobilier, chinées pendant dans années.
