C'est dans le quartier de Whitechapel, à Londres, que cette maison loft a été installée dans une ancienne distillerie de gin. Très enclavée, le défi relevé avec brio par l'architecte Rupert Scott de Open Practice Architecture, a été de faire entrer la lumière à flot. À l'extérieur, elle est discrète, et à l'intérieur le choix des matériaux est axé sur la simplicité et la durabilité. Les charpentes métalliques, le bois, l'acier noir et le béton poli habillent les espaces et à l'étage supérieur, une terrasse permet de s'isoler loin de l'agitation de la ville.
