La décoration rustique épurée et naturelle de cette maison en Espagne lui donne l'allure d'une maison de campagne ancienne. Elle a pourtant été construite dans les années 1970 à Madrid, et le projet de rénovation a été mené à bien par l'architecte Carmen Bueno, une spécialiste de la rénovation et de la sauvegarde du patrimoine. Elle a su en moderniser le style rustique d'origine, en l'allégeant grâce à un certain minimalisme, qui met à l'honneur les volumes et les matières et couleurs naturelles.
La maison bien qu'en bon état, était désaffectée, humide et inconfortable et personne ne voulait plus y aller. L'idée des propriétaires était d'en refaire un véritable lieu de réunion familial accueillant. L'architecte a donc restauré les enduits à la chaux, et la voûte en briques blanchies du salon, tout en lui donnant une décoration rustique épurée et naturelle, plus conforme aux goûts actuels. L'intervention a été menée avec discrétion, pour ne rien enlever à la maison de son esprit d'origine. Le bois a été traité avec soin, en réparant les poutres et les solives du plafond typiquement de style castillan et en jouant avec les tons de terre cuite, comme les carreaux de sol d'origine. She was able to modernise the original rustic style, lightening it up with a certain minimalism that emphasises volumes and natural materials and colours.
The house, although in good condition, was disused, damp and uncomfortable and no one wanted to go there anymore. The owners' idea was to turn it into a real family meeting place. The architect therefore restored the lime plaster and the whitewashed brick vault of the living room, while giving it a refined and natural rustic decor, more in line with current tastes. The intervention was carried out with discretion, so as not to take anything away from the house's original spirit. The wood was treated with care, repairing the beams and joists of the typical Castilian-style ceiling and playing with the terracotta tones, like the original floor tiles. Photo: Javier Bravo
