Here's a place designed to enjoy the sea and the family, overlooking the Mediterranean, a space that seems to have no boundaries, where your gaze escapes as if on a boat, towards the infinite horizon. This white house on the Spanish coast has a surface area of 300m2, perfect for the family of seven that usually occupies it, and is located in the Empordà region of Catalonia. It is accessed via the wild garden, and connection at every level was central to the thinking behind its design.
Interior designer Susanna Cots, who took charge of the project, wanted the interior to be as white as possible, to accentuate the natural light and create a feeling of calm and order. And it's a success. The house is a perfect example of “Less is more”, where everything necessary is there, but the superfluous is banished. The beauty of this white house on the Spanish coast comes from the harmony of its interior and exterior architecture with the landscape, from the presence of the sea in every space, without the need to diminish it with over-invasive decoration.
