Même si une telle surface permettait de créer un deux-pièces confortable, ce studio moderne et bien organisé de 35m2 devait faire face à plusieurs défis. Le premier étant que la lumière ne provenant que de fenêtres de petit format sur un mur unique, il était difficile de fermer la zone parfaite pour installer la chambre, dans une alcôve, sans priver la partie salon et cuisine ouverte de lumière naturelle. La séparation se fait donc avec un rideau léger que l'on peut fermer ou ouvrir selon les besoins. Il aurait été également impossible d'installer un équipement fixe, s'agissant d'un appartement en location, le rideau était donc la solution idéale.
Il y avait également un manque évident d'espaces de rangements, un indispensable dans une petite surface. Le choix s'est donc porté sur l'installation côté chambre et dans l'entrée, d'armoires IKEA Pax, dont les portes en verre sablé reflètent la lumière. Le blanc a bien entendu été largement utilisé pour l'aménagement et la décoration de ce grand studio, afin de pallier l'impression de manque de lumière qui aurait pu résulter du peu de fenêtres que possède cet appartement en Suède, et de leur format.
Although such a large surface area made it possible to create a comfortable one-bedroom, this modern, well-organised 35m2 studio faced a number of challenges. The first was that the light only came from small windows on a single wall, so it was difficult to close off the perfect area for the bedroom, in an alcove, without depriving the open-plan living room and kitchen area of natural light. The separation is therefore made with a light curtain that can be closed or opened as required. It would also have been impossible to install fixed equipment, as this is a rented flat, so the curtain was the ideal solution.
There was also an obvious lack of storage space, which is essential in a small space. The choice was therefore made to install IKEA Pax wardrobes in the bedroom and hallway, with sandblasted glass doors that reflect the light. White was of course used extensively in the design and decoration of this large studio, to offset the impression of a lack of light that might have resulted from this Swedish flat's small number and size of windows.
