In Stockholm, a former secondary school built in 1957 has been converted into flats. One of them, a cosy 82m2 flat bathed in light and carefully renovated, combines period architecture, generous proportions and vintage décor in pastel colours. Renovating an old flat means giving it a new lease of life without betraying its soul. The original features – 3.15-metre-high ceilings, large bay windows and adjoining balconies – have been preserved and enhanced.
In terms of décor, the renovation opted for a colourful vintage influence: pastel-coloured walls, a soft green Ikea kitchen with a central island, and an open-plan living room that captures the light from morning to night. The master bedroom retains its period charm, enhanced by the soft evening light, while the children's bedroom benefits from a practical layout with bunk beds.
