Une famille néerlandaise rêvait d’un intérieur plus actuel qui mélangerait ses goûts. La designer Fietje Bruijn a été chargée par le magazine VT Wonen de réaliser leur projet en mariant fonctionnalité, chaleur et astuces couleurs. Willy et Elke ont emménagé à Vijfhuizen il y a quinze ans et vivaient dans une maison lumineuse, mais un peu trop sage. Elke appréciait sa tranquillité un peu neutre tandis que Willy avait envie de quelque chose de plus personnel. Les volumes complexes, les lignes inclinées et un ancien poêle inutilisé compliquaient toutefois les choses. Fietje Bruijn a donc imaginé un projet de relooking chaleureux pour la maison moderne conciliant fonctionnalité et atmosphère accueillante. Elle a intégré une grande armoire murale offrant un rangement généreux tout en structurant la pièce. La légère avancée latérale crée une transition douce sans compromettre la luminosité abondante.
Pour répondre aux envies de Willy, Fietje a posé une base sable relevée par un jaune moutarde utilisé avec parcimonie. La couleur glisse derrière l’armoire, file vers la fenêtre et anime un banc sur mesure pensé pour rendre ce coin enfin accueillant. Le jaune reste d’ailleurs une piste accessible pour ceux voulant raviver leur maison. Des tons beurre, paille, ocre ou pastel peuvent illuminer une pièce sans l’alourdir. Designer Fietje Bruijn was commissioned by VT Wonen magazine to carry out their project, combining functionality, warmth and clever use of colour. Willy and Elke moved to Vijfhuizen fifteen years ago and lived in a bright but somewhat bland house. Elke appreciated its neutral tranquillity, while Willy wanted something more personal. However, the complex volumes, sloping lines and an old, unused stove complicated matters. Fietje Bruijn therefore came up with a warm makeover plan for the modern house, combining functionality with a welcoming atmosphere. She incorporated a large wall cabinet, providing generous storage space while giving the room structure. The slight sideways projection creates a smooth transition without compromising the abundant light.
To meet Willy's wishes, Fietje chose a sandy base colour, accented with a sparing use of mustard yellow. The colour flows behind the cupboard, towards the window and enlivens a custom-made bench designed to finally make this corner welcoming. Yellow is also an accessible option for those wanting to brighten up their home. Butter, straw, ochre or pastel shades can illuminate a room without weighing it down.
