Cette maison Vipp posée au bord d’un étang semble presque flotter sur l'eau

Dans la forêt de Lumberland, ce pavillon dessiné par Johnston Marklee propose une parenthèse naturelle entre architecture et paysage verdoyant. Au bord d’un étang discret, cette nouvelle maison Vipp semble posé comme une pierre dans le paysage. À environ deux heures de Manhattan, dans l’État de New York, le refuge attire les citadins en quête de déconnexion. Les architectes de Johnston Marklee ont imaginé ici un volume compact inspiré par deux ellipses tangentes. Les façades mêlent stuc lisse et stuc nervuré pour capter la lumière changeante. Le bâtiment de 111m2 se découvre progressivement en longeant l’étang. L’entrée passe par une cour incurvée où les murs sable filtrent doucement le soleil.

À l’intérieur, un salon elliptique s’ouvre largement sur la prairie et l’eau. Une grande verrière éclaire la cuisine Vipp V3 anodisée placée au centre. Son aluminium strié et ses bords arrondis s'accordent avec les courbes de la maison. Dans la partie salon, on a installé le canapé Vipp Loft et une table en travertin clair. Les grandes baies vitrées effacent presque la frontière entre la pièce et la prairie. Deux chambres suivent la courbe du plan et regardent la forêt. This Vipp house, set on the edge of a pond, seems to float on the water

In the Lumberland forest, this pavilion designed by Johnston Marklee offers a natural interlude between architecture and green landscape. On the edge of a discreet pond, this new Vipp house seems to sit like a stone in the landscape. About two hours from Manhattan, in New York State, the retreat attracts city dwellers seeking to disconnect. Architects at Johnston Marklee have designed a compact structure inspired by two tangent ellipses. The facades combine smooth stucco and ribbed stucco to capture the changing light. The 111m2 building is gradually revealed as you walk along the pond. Its entrance is through a curved courtyard where sand-coloured walls gently filter the sunlight.

Inside, an elliptical living room opens widely onto the meadow and water. A large glass roof illuminates the anodised Vipp V3 kitchen in the centre. Its ribbed aluminium and rounded edges match the curves of the house. In the living room area, a Vipp Loft sofa and a light travertine table have been installed. The large bay windows almost erase the boundary between the room and the meadow. Two bedrooms follow the curve of the floor plan and look out onto the forest.
