Datant du début du XXème siècle, ce bâtiment situé à Madrid, près du Retiro, a connu des fortunes diverses avant d'être restauré par deux équipes d'architectes, celle de Quam Arquitectura, formée de Borja Puras Vázquez de Prada et Juan Ramón Jímenez, et celle de Porras & La Casta Arquitectos, avec Fernando Porras-Isla et Arantxa La Casta. Le but de cette rénovation a été d'allier la tradition et la modernité, en exploitant au mieux la surface disponible comme cette cave voutée transformée en chambre et salle de bain, qui abritait autrefois la réserve à charbon.
