Selva Guiffrey, (@selvaartargentina) pharmacienne de profession, est également une artiste plasticienne qui vit dans cet appartement en duplex en Argentine avec son mari. La mezzanine est exploitée comme un véritable atelier, illuminé par l'immense baie vitrée du salon en double hauteur. Cette dernière donne sur une terrasse et offre une vue sur le Río de la Plata . Selva a fait de cette mezzanine son atelier et son hall d'exposition, elle y peint, écrit, dessine des vêtements ou des éléments décoratifs.
Le bleu est omniprésent pour la décoration du premier niveau de l'appartement, en accord avec celui que l'on trouve en regardant dehors lorsque les yeux s'élèvent vers le ciel. Marié au gris, il apporte beaucoup de sérénité aux espaces du quotidien. La décoration de cet appartement en duplex avec vue oscille entre les éléments design et des touches plus rustiques. Des trouvailles astucieuses, comme un miroir transformé en fenêtre dans la partie salle à manger, complétée par des volets patinés ont été installé pour réaliser un véritable trompe-l'oeil. Cet espace sous la mezzanine, aurait pu sembler confiné mais possède désormais une véritable vue sur l'extérieur avec le reflet du paysage de la baie vitrée. On pense souvent que les artistes ne peuvent créer que dans un atelier situé dans une maison à la campagne. The mezzanine is used as a real art studio, illuminated by the huge bay window of the double-height living room. The living room opens onto a terrace with a view of the Río de la Plata. Selva has made this mezzanine her art studio and exhibition hall, where she paints, writes, designs clothes or decorative elements.
Blue is omnipresent in the decoration of the first level of the flat, in keeping with the blue you find when you look outside and look up to the sky. Combined with grey, it brings a great deal of serenity to everyday spaces. The decoration of this duplex flat with a view oscillates between design elements and more rustic touches. Clever finds, such as a mirror transformed into a window in the dining area, complemented by patinated shutters, have been installed to create a real optical illusion. This space under the mezzanine might have seemed cramped but now has a real view of the outside with the reflection of the landscape from the bay window. It is often thought that artists can only create in a studio in a house in the country.
