l'Atelier Cho Thompson a créé un appartement dans une ancienne usine d'embouteillage de Coca-Cola pour en faire un loft aux accents italiens
The Bottling Plant est un appartement contemporain situé à New Haven, dans le Connecticut, dans une ancienne usine d'embouteillage pour Coca-Cola, et a été redessiné en 2021 par l'Atelier Cho Thompson pour en faire un loft aux accents italiens. En effet, il se trouve non loin du quartier de Little Italy de la ville, et les designers ont souhaité faire une sorte de clin d'oeil à sa situation géographique en laissant ça et là des petits messages en langue italienne disséminés à travers le loft.
Le bâtiment dans lequel il se trouve a été construit en 1890, et lors de la rénovation, les architectes ont conservé et restauré les beaux éléments industriels marquants de son époque. Les plafonds et les murs en tôle ont été rénovés, la structure en bois exposée, les planchers anciens remis à neuf, et l'ensemble a été décoré dans un style contemporain léger. Les espaces lumineux ont été habillés avec une palette de couleurs vert sauge et terracotta, et des matériaux comme le rotin, le liège ainsi qu'un terrazzo très actuel. Photo : Samara Vise
The Bottling Plant is a contemporary flat located in New Haven, Connecticut, in a former Coca-Cola bottling plant, and was redesigned in 2021 by Atelier Cho Thompson as a loft with an Italian flair. Indeed, it is located not far from the city's Little Italy district, and the designers wanted to nod to its location by leaving little messages in Italian scattered throughout the loft.
The building in which it is housed was erected in 1890, and during the renovation the architects retained and restored the beautiful industrial features of its time. The tin ceilings and walls were renovated, the wooden structure was exposed, the old floors were refurbished, and the whole place was decorated in a light contemporary style. The light-filled spaces were dressed with a sage green and terracotta colour palette, and materials such as rattan, cork and a contemporary terrazzo. Photo: Samara Vise
