Stella the Stargazer est installée en pleine campagne par la société australienne de tourisme et d'événementiel Visit Victoria. Sa particularité? Avoir un lit coulissant vers l'extérieur, sur le côté vitré qui s'ouvre largement à la façon d'une porte de garage, pour admirer les étoiles depuis son couchage, sous la couette si les nuits se font fraiches.
Ample a utilisé de vieux panneaux de tôle ondulée légèrement rouillée provenant d'une cabane en ruine de la campagne australienne, pour créer ce modèle exposé en ville pour la faire découvrir. Le bois récupéré à l'intérieur matche parfaitement avec l'esprit rustique de la mini maison. Stella the Stargazer fonctionne entièrement hors réseaux grâce à des panneaux solaires et des batteries, et un générateur automatique en cas de besoin. Elle récupère les eaux de pluie dans des réservoirs et en possède d'autres pour les eaux grises.
This 22m2 off-grid mini house was designed in Australia by Ample, to be set up in locations away from urban light pollution at night and look up at the starry sky. Stella the Stargazer is installed in the countryside by the Australian tourism and events company Visit Victoria. What makes it special? It has a bed that slides out on the glass side, which opens wide like a garage door, so you can admire the stars from your bed, under the duvet if the nights get chilly.
Ample used old, slightly rusty corrugated iron panels from a ruined shack in rural Australia to create this model, which is on display in the city for public viewing. The reclaimed wood inside matches the rustic feel of the mini house perfectly. Stella the Stargazer runs entirely off-grid thanks to solar panels and batteries, and an automatic generator when needed. It collects rainwater in tanks and has tanks for grey water.
