Il permet aux clients (aux USA pour le moment, dans d'autres pays ensuite), de demander l'aide d'experts pour meubler et décorer leurs pièces, pour un tarif d'environ 100 € par pièce. Sans doute, certains trouveront cela moins impressionnant de demander à ce type d'enseigne de les aider à concevoir leur intérieur, qu'à des professionnels du secteur. Du choix des meubles et des objets à leur assemblage, IKEA s’occupe de tout, puisque des personnes pourront s’occuper de cette tâche si n'avez pas envie de le faire. Après avoir rempli un questionnaire sur le site IKEA, l'échange se fait en appel vidéos (au nombre de 3), et ensuite un projet en 3D avec la liste des objets et meubles est fourni.

Et voici la deuxième proposition de l'enseigne puisque IKEA propose deux nouveautés : à Paris, dans une "pièce virtuelle" de 9m2, IKEA propose de choisir ses meubles en réalité augmentée. C'est une expérience nouvelle et immersive proposée par l'enseigne suédoise. Il s'agit d'une première mondiale, avec 80 exemples d’ambiances qui sont projetés sur trois murs blancs. On peut ensuite changer les coloris, ou les meubles grâce à l'assistance d'une tablette. Les informations sont fournies en temps réel, prix, matières ou fiche produit. Les photos en 3D viennent de la maison mère mais le concept a été développé en France avec la start-up de réalité virtuelle UGLA. Mais au delà de cette expérience parisienne et de la visualisation dans cette pièce de 9m2, il sera bientôt possible dans toute la France de prendre une pièce de sa maison en photo, et de la repenser en remplaçant les meubles existants par des produits Ikea grâce à la réalité virtuelle.
