Derrière sa façade classique mais dotée d'une peinture grise qui la sort du banal, cette maison victorienne agrandie et modernisée révèle un intérieur atypique. Les architectes de Storp Weber Architecture qui ont réalisé ce projet l'ont agrandie sur le jardin afin de créer une plus grande interaction avec celui-ci. La façade grise laissait présager que l'intérieur serait différent et l'on n'est pas déçu de le découvrir, avec sa décoration design aux accents colorés loin de celle du 19e siècle.
L'escalier jaune de l'entrée donne le ton, ici, nous allons de surprise en surprise, avec ce goût pour la couleur et l'esprit rebelle qui caractérise souvent nos amis britanniques. C'est une maison à l'esprit rock dans une vieille enveloppe, et les deux styles se marient à merveille. À l'arrière, le magnifique jardin est planté de façon à être beau quelle que soit la saison. Une grande variété de plantes vivaces, de fleurs et de pollinisateurs, a été soigneusement sélectionnée. Un espace peint en noir qui sert de bureau a été construit dans ce jardin, avec de grandes fenêtre offrant des vues magnifiques sur celui-ci.
Behind its classic façade, but with a grey paint finish that makes it stand out from the crowd, this extended and modernised Victorian house reveals an atypical interior. The architects from Storp Weber Architecture who carried out this project extended the house onto the garden to create greater interaction with it. The grey facade suggested that the interior would be different, and we are not disappointed to discover that it is, with its colourful design accents far removed from those of the 19th century.
The yellow staircase in the entrance hall sets the tone, and here we go from surprise to surprise, with that taste for colour and rebellious spirit that often characterises our British friends. It's a house with a rock spirit in an old shell, and the two styles are a perfect match. To the rear, the magnificent garden is planted in such a way as to be beautiful whatever the season. A wide variety of perennials, flowers and pollinators have been carefully selected. A black-painted office space has been built into the garden, with large windows offering magnificent views over the garden.
