This renovated old house in Australia was built in 1940 and is set in bucolic surroundings. Although it's in the heart of a city, it feels like it's out in the countryside, with its charming wood-panelled cottage feel and views of mountains and greenery. Thanks to the respectful work of its owners, Aimée and Paul, it has retained its traditional atmosphere while being equipped with all modern conveniences.
It is located in Victoria County, in a rather wild environment resembling the Alps. When its owners discovered it, it was in an advanced state of disrepair, full of rubbish, but they were able to see its full potential. The foundations were crude, made of river stones, and the house wasn't even straight. After a great deal of work, it has been given a charming new look, and has been tastefully decorated in a rustic chic style, using original materials as much as possible. Named Riverwash Cottage in homage to the stones of the river, it is now a charming house where life is very pleasant.
