Construite à partir de deux anciens containers maritimes, cette mini maison container autonome se trouve à 18 mètres au-dessus du sol. La River Forest Lookout s'inspire des tours d'observations installés dans les forêts pour surveiller le départ de feux. Elle se trouve dans l'état de Géorgie aux USA. La vue aérienne montre à quel point, c'est un habitat loin de tout, parfait pour se déconnecter du quotidien, et son autonomie est assurée à la fois par des panneaux solaires, et l'eau d'un puits voisin ainsi que d'un chauffage alimenté au propane, complété par un petit poêle à bois, s'il fait froid.
Son propriétaire Mark Derenthal et sa famille ont construit entièrement cette maison atypique. L'un des containers sert d'espace de vie, avec la cuisine ouverte et la chambre. Cet espace dispose de murs en verre du sol au plafond qui offrent une vue panoramique ininterrompue sur la nature sauvage à couper le souffle. Le second container est dédié entièrement à la salle de bain. Une terrasse bien équipée sur le toit, et un balcon complètent la construction. Réservée à ceux qui aiment la nature, mais qui n'ont pas le vertige bien sûr, cette maison est unique, tant par sa conception que par son emplacement !
Built from two old shipping containers, this self-sufficient container mini house stands 18 metres above the ground. The River Forest Lookout is inspired by the observation towers installed in forests to monitor fire outbreaks. It is located in the US state of Georgia. The aerial view shows the extent to which it is a habitat far from everything, perfect for disconnecting from everyday life, and its autonomy is ensured by solar panels and water from a nearby well, as well as propane-fuelled heating, supplemented by a small wood-burning stove if it gets cold.
Owner Mark Derenthal and his family constructed this unusual house from scratch. One of the containers serves as the living area, with an open-plan kitchen and bedroom.
