Située dans un grand domaine sur le lac Fritton dans le Norfolk, dans une partie d'une forêt sauvage, cette maison en bois noir de 81m2 a été conçue par KOTO Design, un constructeur réputé en Angleterre (et dans le monde), qui s'inspire de l'habitat scandinave. La façade noire permet de mieux s'intégrer dans l'environnement boisé, se fondant au milieu des troncs des arbres. Le contraste est saisissant entre l'extérieur très sombre, et l'intérieur lumineux qui s'ouvre sur le paysage grâce à ses larges baies vitrées.
La décoration de cette maison qui est habitée les week-ends et les vacances uniquement, est moderne, simple et facile à vivre, tout en étant très esthétique. Là aussi, les constructeurs ont été inspirés par la décoration scandinave à base de bois clair et de blanc. On y trouve des meubles et les luminaires de HAY, Menu, Bolia, Superfront et Ferm Living. La cuisine est sur mesure Made by Husk et finie en plans de travail Neolith. C'est également une maison où l'écologie est prépondérante, avec une efficacité énergétique accrue. Elle est construite presque entièrement à partir de bois d'origine durable et présente d'excellents niveaux d'isolation. Le bardage extérieur est constitué de mélèze britannique noirci, un bois résineux naturellement durable.
Located on a large estate on Fritton Lake in Norfolk, in part of a wild woodland, this 81m2 black timber house was designed by KOTO Design, a well-known UK (and international) builder, which takes its inspiration from Scandinavian living. The black façade blends seamlessly into the wooded surroundings, blending in with the tree trunks. The contrast is striking between the very dark exterior and the bright interior, which opens out onto the landscape thanks to its large picture windows.
The decor in this house, which is only lived in at weekends and during the holidays, is modern, simple and easy to live with, yet very attractive. Here too, the builders were inspired by Scandinavian decor based on light wood and white. It features furniture and lighting by HAY, Menu, Bolia, Superfront and Ferm Living. The kitchen is made to measure by Husk and finished in Neolith worktops. This is also a home where ecology is predominant, with increased energy efficiency. It is built almost entirely from sustainably sourced timber and has excellent levels of insulation. The external cladding is made from blackened British larch, a naturally sustainable softwood.
