Décoration moderniste dans un appartement à Paris par Camille Hermand
C'est dans un immeuble des années 1950 à Paris, que l'architecte Camille Hermand a été chargée de la rénovation de cet appartement, qui était presque une page blanche. Le plan était rationnel, typique de l'architecture d'après-guerre, et l'idée était d'apporter un esprit contemporain avec une décoration moderniste dans une ambiance transparente et design. L'appartement possédant une belle terrasse, un bien précieux à Paris, l'architecte a réussi à organiser un double séjour et une cuisine tourné vers elle.
Du côté de la cour, on trouve désormais les deux chambres, le bureau et la salle de bain. Les fenêtres aux huisseries noires donnent sur les toits de la ville. Un parquet en chêne recouvre désormais tous les sols. La décoration moderniste est simple, sans ornements, pour être en accord avec le mobilier du propriétaire, de belles pièces authentiques comme les chaises Standard de Jean Prouvé dans la salle à manger, le fauteuil Pacha et bureau de Pierre Paulin, fauteuil de Gerrit Rietveld en velours jaune dans l’entrée. In a 1950s building in Paris, architect Camille Hermand was commissioned to renovate this flat, which was almost a blank page. The plan was rational, typical of post-war architecture, and the idea was to bring in a contemporary spirit with modernist decor in a transparent, designer atmosphere. As the flat has a beautiful terrace, a precious asset in Paris, the architect succeeded in organising a double living room and a kitchen facing it.
On the courtyard side are the two bedrooms, the study and the bathroom. The black-framed windows look out over the city's rooftops. Oak parquet now covers all the floors. The modernist decor is simple and unadorned, in keeping with the owner's furniture, which includes fine authentic pieces such as the Standard chairs by Jean Prouvé in the dining room, the Pacha armchair and desk by Pierre Paulin, and the yellow velvet armchair by Gerrit Rietveld in the entrance hall.
