Surplombant le Loch Linnhe, l'île de Lismore et Castle Stalker, sur la côte ouest de l'Écosse, cette maison en bois ouverte et contemporaine est une cabane de notre époque. Elle a été conçue ainsi qu'une seconde maison du même type par MACARC Architecture afin de profiter au mieux des vues sur le paysage sauvage. Destinée à accueillir un couple, c'est une maison de type loft, aux volumes ouverts, où le lit peut se dissimuler en journée derrière un rideau, qui s'ouvre pour profiter du ciel étoilé la nuit depuis la chambre.
Les deux maisons sont appelées "North House" et "South House" et sont éloignées d'environ 100 mètres, afin de privilégier l'intimité (surtout si on profite du jacuzzi sur la terrasse!). La "South House", offre en particulier une des plus belles vues de la région, avec des baies vitrées du sol au plafond complétées par un revêtement en cèdre et un sol en ciment poli. La cuisine compacte et minimaliste avec îlot, est élégante et surplombe les lochs.
Overlooking Loch Linnhe, the Isle of Lismore and Castle Stalker on the west coast of Scotland, this contemporary, open-plan timber house is a cabin for our time. It was designed by MACARC Architecture, along with a second house of the same type, to make the most of the views over the wild landscape. Intended for a couple, it is a loft-style house with open volumes, where the bed can be hidden behind a curtain during the day, which opens up to enjoy the starry sky at night from the bedroom.
The two houses are called 'North House' and 'South House' and are around 100 metres apart, to ensure privacy (especially if you enjoy the jacuzzi on the terrace!). The South House, in particular, offers some of the best views in the region, with floor-to-ceiling windows complemented by cedar cladding and a polished cement floor. The compact, minimalist kitchen with island is elegant and overlooks the lochs.
