Ignazio Mortellaro est un artiste et architecte qui a transformé une maison traditionnelle en Sicile, une ancienne ferme bâtie il y a trois siècles, en une maison de vacances durable et économe en énergie. Baptisée Casa Balat, elle se trouve dans la ville de Noto, et est un mélange entre les matériaux régionaux et la technologie actuelle. Par exemple, elle utilise un système géothermique pour la climatisation et le chauffage de l'eau.
Tout a été conçu pour minimiser l'empreinte carbone tout dans cette maison de vacances destinée à l'agrotourisme pour voyageurs en recherche d'équilibre et de communion avec la nature. La maison est grande et on y trouve pas moins de trois chambres, deux salons, et une cuisine équipée haut-de-gamme, ainsi qu'une pièce dédiée au yoga. Ignazio Mortellaro is an artist and architect who has transformed a traditional Sicilian house, an old farmhouse built three centuries ago, into a sustainable, energy-efficient holiday home. Called Casa Balat, it is located in the town of Noto, and is a blend of regional materials and modern technology. For example, it uses a geothermal system for air conditioning and water heating.
Everything has been designed to minimise the carbon footprint of this agrotourism holiday home for travellers seeking balance and communion with nature. The house is large, with no fewer than three bedrooms, two living rooms and a top-of-the-range fully-equipped kitchen, as well as a room dedicated to yoga.
