Cette maison en pierres en deux volumes a été conçue spécialement pour une famille où chacun aime à se retrouver en vacances, tout en conservant une certaine indépendance. Située à trois kilomètres de la mer à Chapadmalal sur la côte sud-est de l'Argentine, elle a été dessinée par les professionnels du studio d'architecture Mazzinghi-Sanchez, pour leurs parents et leurs frères . Les deux volumes parallèles sont reliés par une cour. Comme il s'agit d'une maison de vacances qui est inhabitée pendant de longs mois, des matériaux qui ne nécessitent aucun entretien ont été choisis, comme la pierre qui habille les façades.
Lorsque les propriétaire sont seuls, ils peuvent utiliser seulement une partie de la maison, celle qui comprend la cuisine, la salle à manger et le salon, et laissent fermé le second volume où l'on trouve les chambres et les salles de bains destinées à leurs enfants et petits-enfants. Les espaces extérieurs sont largement protégés pour être agréables même au plus fort de l'été. Les deux bâtiments qui constituent cette maison en pierres en deux volumes sont autonomes, y compris dans l'approvisionnement en énergie, avec un système de chauffage et d'électricité séparé. This stone house in two volumes has been specially designed for a family where everyone enjoys being together on holiday, while retaining a degree of independence. Located three kilometres from the sea in Chapadmalal on Argentina's south-east coast, it was designed by the professionals at the Mazzinghi-Sanchez architecture studio for their parents and brothers. The two parallel volumes are linked by a courtyard. As this is a holiday home that will be uninhabited for many months, maintenance-free materials were chosen, such as the stone cladding on the façades.
When the owners are on their own, they can use only one part of the house - comprising the kitchen, dining room and living room - and leave the second part, containing the bedrooms and bathrooms for their children and grandchildren, closed off. The outside spaces are largely protected, so that they are pleasant even in the height of summer.
