C'est le studio architectural réputé Workshop Diseño y Construcción qui a pris en charge la rénovation d'une maison étroite typique de la ville de Mérida au Mexique. Casa Goliana marie désormais son  architecture traditionnelle à un design moderne. Elle profite d'un jardin en longueur bien exploité avec une piscine qui la transforme en oasis urbaine.Son mobilier en bois brut et son esprit moderne redonnent du charme et de l'élégance au patrimoine local. Cette maison illustre parfaitement les projets de réhabilitation des maisons de cette région, faits sans sacrifier ni l’espace ni le confort.

Construite au milieu du siècle dernier, elle a été repensée avec comme objectif de préserver son authenticité. La partie ancienne a conservé ses carreaux de ciment, ses menuiseries d’origine et ses proportions traditionnelles. Le véritable joyau du projet reste la cour centrale avec sa piscine tout en longueur qui traverse le jardin. Elle relie la maison ancienne à l’extension contemporaine. Deux chambres supplémentaires complètent l’ensemble. La végétation tropicale et les finitions en chukum (une résine typique du Yucatán) créent une atmosphère fraîche. The renovation of a narrow house with a pool 

It was the renowned architectural studio Workshop Diseño y Construcción that took charge of the renovation of a typical narrow house in the city of Mérida in Mexico. Casa Goliana now combines its traditional architecture with a modern design. It boasts a well-utilized elongated garden with a pool that transforms it into an urban oasis. Its raw wood furniture and modern spirit restore charm and elegance to the local heritage. This house perfectly illustrates the rehabilitation projects of houses in this region, done without sacrificing either space or comfort.

Built in the middle of the last century, it was rethought with the aim of preserving its authenticity. The old part has retained its cement tiles, original woodwork, and traditional proportions. The true gem of the project remains the central courtyard with its elongated pool that runs through the garden. It connects the old house to the contemporary extension. Two additional bedrooms complete the ensemble. Tropical vegetation and chukum finishes (a typical Yucatan resin) create a cool atmosphere.
