Une maison en bois au Chili entre montagne et lac
Adossée à la montagne et tournée vers le lac Colico, cette maison en bois au Chili signée par le studio Schwember-García Huidobro repousse les limites de l’architecture contemporaine. Elle se dresse comme une sculpture vivante. S’adaptant à un terrain en pente de 40°, elle est une prouesse d’architecture bois contemporaine. Elle a été pensée pour une famille nombreuse et les longs hivers chiliens. Le pin et le bois lamellé-collé structurent la maison du sol au plafond. Les architectes ont choisi de ne pas installer de gouttières. Ils ont plutôt adopté de larges avant-toits qui protègent naturellement les façades.
Organisée sur quatre niveaux, sur une longueur de 11m, la maison déploie ses volumes autour d’un foyer central. C'est à la fois le point chaud et le cœur visuel de la maison. Le salon, la cuisine et la salle à manger s’ouvrent sur le lac, tandis que les chambres dominent le paysage. La cuisine rétro mêle carrelage vintage et équipements modernes, et le quincho (une galerie couverte) permet de profiter du panorama toute l’année. Entre montagne et lac, cette maison en bois au Chili présente un parfait équilibre entre espaces chaleureux et architecture contemporaine.
Backed by mountains and facing Lake Colico, this wooden house in Chile, designed by the Schwember-García Huidobro studio, pushes the boundaries of contemporary architecture. It stands like a living sculpture, adapting to a 40° slope. A feat of contemporary wooden architecture, designed for a large family and the long Chilean winters. Pine and glued laminated timber structure the house from floor to ceiling. The architects chose not to install gutters: the wide eaves naturally protect the facades.

The living room, kitchen and dining room open onto the lake, while the bedrooms overlook the landscape. The retro kitchen combines vintage tiles with modern appliances, and the quincho (a covered gallery) allows you to enjoy the panorama all year round.
