Un relooking classique et contemporain pour une maison de ville aux Pays-Bas
Le styliste néerlandais Frans Uyterlinde prouve qu’ancien et moderne peuvent faire bon ménage. Pour VtWonen, il a transformé la maison de ville de Riemkje et Joppe à Amersfoort aux Pays-Bas. Le résultat: un intérieur plein de charme, où les antiquités retrouvent une seconde jeunesse. Car chez ce couple, les goûts opposés en déco faisaient des étincelles. Elle rêvait d’un style chic et mystérieux, lui adore ses meubles anciens. Frans Uyterlinde, styliste de l’émission a eu une idée lumineuse: créer un “mélange stylé”, un relooking classique et contemporain à la fois.
Plutôt que d’effacer le passé, Frans a modernisé les pièces de Joppe: l’armoire de sa tante Nel, l’horloge ancienne ou encore le banc d’église sont devenus des éléments déco à part entière. Grâce à la technique du "color drenching", les teintes boisées se fondent dans des murs recouverts de placage signé Jeroen Wand. On obtient un jeu de textures et de lumières bluffant. Le tout est rehaussé d’un papier-peint fleuri doré, de velours vert et de luminaires sculpturaux. Entre vintage et modernité, le styliste a réussit son pari: offrir à ce couple un intérieur à la fois élégant, personnel et résolument actuel. Dutch stylist Frans Uyterlinde proves that old and new can go hand in hand. For VtWonen, he transformed Riemkje and Joppe's townhouse in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. The result is a charming interior where antiques have been given a new lease of life. The couple's contrasting tastes in interior design were causing friction. She dreamed of a chic and mysterious style, while he loved his antique furniture. Frans Uyterlinde, the programme's designer, had a brilliant idea: to create a ‘stylish mix’, a makeover that was both classic and contemporary.
Rather than erasing the past, Frans modernised Joppe's pieces: her aunt Nel's wardrobe, the antique clock and even the church bench became decorative elements in their own right. Thanks to the ‘colour drenching’ technique, the wood tones blend into the walls covered with veneer by Jeroen Wand. The result is a stunning interplay of textures and light. The whole effect is enhanced by golden floral wallpaper, green velvet and sculptural light fixtures. Combining vintage and modern styles, the designer has succeeded in his challenge: to offer this couple an interior that is elegant, personal and resolutely contemporary.
