Sous les plafonds hauts d’un immeuble construit en 1935, la designer Maria Amelina a transformé un petit appartement en un lieu plein de charme et d’histoire. Couleurs audacieuses, meubles chinés et pièces d’art inspirantes, il est une vraie leçon de style et d’équilibre. Dans cet appartement de 60m2 vintage et coloré, elle a tout repensé. La lumière entre à flots par cinq fenêtres, et l’espace paraît bien plus vaste qu’il ne l’est. Mais avant d’en arriver là, il a fallu tout refaire : planchers, isolation, ventilation, murs abattus. Son inspiration est venue de deux toiles d’artistes qui ont servi de point de départ à la palette de couleurs.
De là sont nées les teintes des murs, choisies avec soin après mille essais de peinture. Moulures recréées à l’identique, mobilier chiné des années 50-60 et trouvailles précieuses — dont une maquette de l’Empire State Building — signent le décor. La cuisine italienne, moderne et verte, contraste joyeusement avec le reste. Et dans la chambre, un papier-peint panoramique, imaginé sur mesure par la designer, impose la touche finale. Beneath the high ceilings of a building constructed in 1935, designer Maria Amelina has transformed a small flat into a place full of charm and history. With bold colours, antique furniture and inspiring works of art, it is a true lesson in style and balance. In this colourful, vintage 60m2 flat, she has redesigned everything. Light floods in through five windows, making the space seem much larger than it is. But before reaching this point, everything had to be redone: floors, insulation, ventilation, walls knocked down. Her inspiration came from two paintings by artists, which served as the starting point for the colour palette.
This inspired the colours of the walls, which were carefully chosen after a thousand paint tests. Identical recreations of the mouldings, vintage furniture from the 1950s and 1960s, and precious finds — including a model of the Empire State Building — complete the decor. The modern, green Italian kitchen contrasts cheerfully with the rest of the apartment. And in the bedroom, panoramic wallpaper, custom-designed by the designer, adds the finishing touch.
