Ils ont confié leur projet à Jorge Laucirica, de Arbe Decoracion. La maison nécessitait une remise à niveau complète afin d’offrir un confort durable aux nouveaux occupants. La distribution d’origine fonctionnait étonnamment bien, donc l’architecte a préféré préserver cette configuration harmonieuse. Son intention était claire: respecter l’esprit du bâtiment tout en insufflant une énergie artistique. La cuisine s’impose naturellement comme le cœur vibrant de la maison, assumant une présence sculpturale forte. Le salon mélange les pièces contemporaines et les trouvailles du siècle dernier choisies avec une connaissance pointue. Les influences basques croisent subtilement les touches américaines. Elles sont chères aux propriétaires originaires de ce pays, qui passent ici régulièrement leurs vacances. This house in Bakio, facing the Cantabrian Sea, has a cheerful atmosphere created by bold colours and vivid memories. The owners wanted to return to a place filled with happy memories, rediscovering a particularly strong connection. They had spent many holidays in this small house with its colourful, vintage renovation, which they were finally able to purchase. They entrusted their project to Jorge Laucirica of Arbe Decoracion. The house needed a complete upgrade to provide lasting comfort for its new occupants. The electrical, plumbing and ventilation systems were carefully redesigned to ensure trouble-free use.
Its original layout worked surprisingly well, so the architect preferred to preserve this harmonious configuration. His intention was clear: to respect the spirit of the building while infusing it with artistic energy. Its kitchen naturally stands out as the vibrant heart of the house, with a strong sculptural presence. The colourful, vintage renovation of this small house is inspired by Mondrian and the Memphis movement. The living room combines contemporary pieces with carefully selected finds from the last century. Basque influences subtly intersect with American touches. These are dear to the owners, who are originally from the United States and regularly spend their holidays here.
