Aux Pays-Bas, cette maison familiale a changé d’allure grâce à un relooking rose vintage audacieux réalisé par la styliste Marlies Does à la demande de VT Wonen. À Den Dungen, Tom et Sara sont tombés amoureux d’une grande maison des années soixante-dix. Le volume était impressionnant, mais l’enchaînement des espaces compliquait immédiatement toute projection cohérente. Le couple partageait l’envie d’un intérieur chaleureux, malgré des sensibilités décoratives très différentes. Sara aime les couleurs, les motifs expressifs et les pièces marquantes visuellement. Tom privilégie les lignes sobres, les choix pratiques et une organisation fonctionnelle du quotidien. Le site VT Wonen a confié le projet à la styliste Marlies Does, chargée d’unifier ces visions opposées.
La designer a choisi de faire migrer la salle à manger vers la véranda, une pièce lumineuse sous exploitée, auparavant dédiée au rangement et aux jouets. Le rez-de-chaussée s’est ouvert grâce à la suppression de cloisons stratégiques, un travail déjà réalisé par le couple. Le sol en marbre, jugé froid, a été remplacé par un parquet chaleureux et clair. Dans le salon, une cheminée est venue s'insérer dans un mur recouvert d'un carrelage gris. Le rose vintage structure désormais l’ensemble, liant mobilier ancien et éléments contemporains. La maison possède maintenant une véritable personnalité, pensée pour durer et évoluer ensemble. In the Netherlands, this family home has been given a bold new look with a vintage pink makeover by stylist Marlies Does, commissioned by VT Wonen. In Den Dungen, Tom and Sara fell in love with a large house from the 1970s. The space was impressive, but the layout made it difficult to envisage a coherent design. The couple shared a desire for a warm interior, despite their very different decorative sensibilities. Sara loves colours, expressive patterns and visually striking pieces. Tom prefers clean lines, practical choices and a functional organisation of everyday life. VT Wonen website entrusted the project to stylist Marlies Does, who was tasked with unifying these opposing visions.
The designer chose to move the dining room to the veranda, a bright, underused room previously used for storage and toys. The ground floor has been opened up by removing strategic partitions, a task already carried out by the couple. Its marble floor, considered cold, was replaced with warm, light-coloured parquet flooring. In the living room, a fireplace was inserted into a wall covered with grey tiles. Vintage pink now ties the whole space together, linking antique furniture and contemporary elements. The house now has a real personality, designed to last and evolve together.
