Un appartement dans une ancienne centrale électrique iconique à Londres

C'est l'architecte d'intérieur Michaelis Boyd qui a conçu plus de 250 appartements situés dans la célèbre centrale électrique classée Battersea Power Station, sur les quais de Londres redonnant ainsi vie à l'un des bâtiments les plus célèbres de la ville. Les appartements sont situés au sommet de la chaufferie centrale et sur les façades ouest et est de la centrale électrique. Il s'est inspiré de l'histoire du bâtiment construit dans les années 1930 et inaugurée en 1941, conçu par l'architecte Giles Gilbert Scott qui est l'un des plus grands bâtiments en briques du monde. Les cheminées ont été reconstruites dans le cadre des travaux de restauration. Cet appartement témoin, a conservé ses briques et l'acier d'origine, et a été équipé de nouvelles fenêtres typiques Crittal allant du sol au plafond. Son design est inspiré par l'Art Déco, qui se marie parfaitement avec l'architecture du bâtiment tout en restant totalement contemporain.

Interior designer Michaelis Boyd has designed over 250 flats in the famous listed Battersea Power Station on London's waterfront, bringing one of the city's most famous buildings back to life. The flats are located on top of the central boiler house and on the west and east facades of the power station. It was inspired by the history of the building built in the 1930s and opened in 1941, designed by architect Giles Gilbert Scott, which is one of the largest brick buildings in the world. The chimneys were rebuilt as part of the restoration work. This show flat, which retains its original brick and steelwork, has been fitted with new floor-to-ceiling Crittal windows. Its design is inspired by Art Deco, which blends perfectly with the architecture of the building while remaining totally contemporary.
