Un appartement de 46m2 modulable grâce au polycarbonate
C'est à Madrid que l'architecte Gonzalo Pardo de Gon Architects a rendu cet appartement de 46m2 modulable, grâce à des cloisons en polycarbonate. Ce matériau possède beaucoup de qualités : il est léger, bon marché, et il laisse passer la lumière. L'appartement était autrefois très compartimenté et composé de 5 petites pièces fermées, ce qui ne correspondait pas aux désirs de son propriétaire, Alex, un professionnel de la télévision espagnole.
Situé sur une des principales artères madrilène, qui peut souvent être très bruyante, l'appartement devait pouvoir permettre de s'isoler du bruit lorsqu'il est nécessaire de se reposer. C'est pourquoi Gon Architects a proposé une rénovation radicale qui scinde l'espace en deux, d'un côté un salon, une cuisine-salle à manger, un hall d'entrée et de l'autre une salle de bain et la chambre. Cette dernière est ainsi à l'endroit le plus calme, qui ne donne pas directement sur la rue. Les miroirs installés ça et là changent la perspective de l'espace. Avec cet appartement de 46m2 modulable, on peut selon ses envies, ouvrir tous les espaces les uns sur les autres, ou bien les fermer, et ainsi lorsqu'on veut s'isoler, profiter de la barrière acoustique supplémentaire créée par les cloisons en polycarbonate. This material has many qualities: it is light, inexpensive and lets light through. In the past, the flat was very compartmentalised, with 5 small, closed rooms, which did not correspond to the wishes of its owner, Alex, a Spanish television professional.
Located on one of Madrid's main traffic streets, which can often be very noisy, the flat needed to be able to isolate itself from the hustle and bustle when it was necessary to rest. This is why Gon Architects proposed a radical renovation that splits the space in two, with a living room, kitchen-dining room and entrance hall on one side, and a bathroom and bedroom on the other. This puts the bedroom in the quietest spot, away from the street. The mirrors installed here and there change the perspective of the space. With this 46m2 flat, you can open up all the spaces to each other, or close them off, as you wish, so that when you want to isolate yourself, you can take advantage of the additional acoustic barrier created by the polycarbonate partitions.
