Ce deux-pièces se trouve dans un immeuble ancien en Suède. Il a été entièrement rénové et habillé avec une décoration aux couleurs du sud. L'immeuble en briques classique a été construit en 1913 et les volumes sont ceux de l'époque. Hauts plafonds et fenêtres, portes en bois patiné, moulures et stucs, et un atout de taille : un large balcon de 13m2 qui complète la surface habitable. Le sol en parquet est également d'origine et a été soigneusement rénové.

Il possède bien entendu un plan qui n'est pas celui des appartements actuels, un peu biscornu avec des coins et des recoins, et des détails charmants. La cuisine est séparée, assez grand pour accueillir la salle à manger, pour laisser au salon son unique fonction de pièce où l'on se détend. Les couleurs comme le terracotta ou le kaki évoquent plus la Méditerranée que la Suède, mais c'est un choix qui permet à cet appartement de sortir du banal accord blanc plus bois, qui si il est esthétique est parfois un peu lassant. L'ambiance est à la fois élégante et confortable, et doit être réconfortante pendant les longs hivers scandinaves.

This one-bedroom apartment is in an old building in Sweden. It has been completely renovated and decorated in southern colours. The classic brick building was constructed in 1913 and the volumes are those of the period. High ceilings and windows, weathered wooden doors, mouldings and stuccowork, and a major asset: a large 13m2 balcony that completes the living space. The parquet flooring is also original and has been carefully renovated.

Of course, it has a layout that is not that of today's flats, a bit quirky with nooks and crannies and charming details. The kitchen is separate, large enough to accommodate the dining room, leaving the living room its unique function as a room in which to relax. Colours such as terracotta and khaki are more reminiscent of the Mediterranean than Sweden, but it's a choice that allows this flat to break away from the banal white and wood combination, which while aesthetically pleasing is sometimes a little tiresome. The ambience is both elegant and cosy, and should be comforting during the long Scandinavian winters.
