Une ancienne école paroissiale construite en 1894 a été transformée en bâtiment résidentiel qui accueille cette maison accolée dans le village d'artiste de Vickleby sur Öland en Suède. En 1960, ledesigner Carl Malmsten a créé dans ce village son école d'art et d'artisanat, et l'école était l'espace d'exposition. Elle a désormais une autre vie, accueillant deux maisons accolées, dont  celle-ci aux allures de loft, à la décoration bohème et vintage.

Ce n'est pas une maison immense, mais elle ne manque pas de charme, avec ses volumes atypiques. Elle a été rénovée par un architecte qui a mélangé ici les époques, entre tradition vintage et design plus contemporain. La cuisine avec son poêle en fonte ancien, et son allure sixties est particulièrement réussie, et donne le ton au reste de la maison, un charmant endroit où vivre en famille.

A semi-detached house in an artist's village

A former parish school built in 1894 has been converted into a residential building that houses this adjoining house in the artist village of Vickleby on Öland in Sweden. In 1960, designer Carl Malmsten set up his arts and crafts school in the village, and the school was the exhibition space. It now has a new lease of life, housing two adjoining houses, including this one with its loft feel and bohemian, vintage decor.

It's not a huge house, but it's not lacking in charm, with its atypical volumes. It has been renovated by an architect who has mixed the eras here, between vintage tradition and more contemporary design. The kitchen, with its antique cast-iron stove and sixties look, is particularly successful, and sets the tone for the rest of the house, a charming place to live as a family.
