D'une surface totale de 620m2, Mar Mediterráneo 34 est une maison rénovée et sauvegardée dans sa beauté originelle à Mexico city. Elle se trouve dans le quartier de Tacuba, un quartier historique et classé, et nécessitait des travaux d'envergure, qui la transportent dans le 21e siècle, mais également conservent avec respect ses éléments anciens. C'est l'architecte Inca Hernández qui s'est chargée de cette tâche ardue, et on peut dire qu'elle est parfaitement réussie.
Derrière la façade originelle de cette maison rénovée et sauvegardée, construite en 1910 dans un style français, on découvre une construction contemporaine aux murs d'un blanc immaculé. La maison abrite désormais sept appartements de différentes surfaces. Le projet a commencé avec l'idée de donner une nouvelle vie à une maison conçue en deux volumes, où le premier intègre la façade principale tandis que le second a une vue sur le patio principal. Les multiples éléments artistiques et artisanaux ont été récupérés de la façade principale tels que les linteaux, les balustrades en fer, les grandes fenêtres et les tuiles de verre du toit. L'intérieur est reconstruit comme une réinterprétation du passé à travers une perspective contemporaine. L'objectif de l'intervention a été de valoriser et sauver la valeur patrimoniale du bâtiment, en tirant parti des espaces de manière durable pour donner vie au quartier. With a total surface area of 620m2, Mar Mediterráneo 34 is a renovated house that has been preserved in its original beauty in Mexico City. It is located in the Tacuba district, a listed historic area, and required extensive work to bring it into the 21st century, while at the same time respectfully preserving its old features. Architect Inca Hernández took on this arduous task, and it's fair to say that it has been a great success.
Behind the original façade of this renovated and preserved house, built in 1910 in the French style, is a contemporary building with immaculate white walls. The house now houses seven flats of varying sizes. The project began with the idea of breathing new life into a house designed in two volumes, where the first integrates the main façade while the second overlooks the main patio. The many artistic and craft elements were recovered from the main façade, such as the lintels, iron balustrades, large windows and glass roof tiles. The interior has been reconstructed as a reinterpretation of the past from a contemporary perspective. The aim of the intervention was to enhance and rescue the building's heritage value, making the most of the spaces in a sustainable way to bring the district to life.
