Un appartement de 100m2 des années 1960 totalement repensé
Sur l'île de Hong Kong, il est rare de trouver de grands appartements, les surfaces étant le plus souvent limitées par le manque de terrain sur cet endroit du globe. Mais comme il date des années 1960, cet appartement de 100m2 bénéficie d'une localisation ancienne au temps où l'île était moins surpeuplée. Il se trouve au cœur du quartier commerçant de Hong Kong, Tsim Sha Tsui et a été repensé en un pied-à-terre élégant inspiré d'un hôtel de charme, grâce à l'architecte d'intérieur Nora Chou.
Il est composé de trois chambres et deux salles de bain, et a bénéficié d'une rénovation totale, car tout datait de l'origine de la construction, il y a plus de 60 ans. Il a fallu réparer les murs et les plafonds, refaire l' électricité et la plomberie avec des normes actuelles. L'objectif était de créer un espace calme permettant à son propriétaire de se déconnecter de l'agitation constante de la ville. Les espaces de cet appartement de 100m2 ont été réorganisés pour plus de fluidité, et une décoration contemporaine a pris place. Comme il est entouré de gratte-ciels, ce sont des couleurs rappelant celles de la terre qui ont été sélectionnées, pour créer une atmosphère naturelle bienvenue, propice au repos. On the island of Hong Kong, it is rare to find large flats, as surface areas are usually limited by the lack of land in this part of the world. But because it dates back to the 1960s, this 100m2 flat benefits from an old location when the island was less overcrowded. It is located in the heart of Hong Kong's shopping district, Tsim Sha Tsui, and has been redesigned as a stylish pied-à-terre inspired by a boutique hotel, thanks to interior designer Nora Chou.
It consists of three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and has benefited from a total renovation, as everything dated back to the original construction, over 60 years ago. The walls and ceilings had to be repaired, and the electricity and plumbing redone to bring them up to modern standards. The aim was to create a calm space that would allow its owner to disconnect from the constant hustle and bustle of the city. The spaces in this 100m2 flat have been reorganised for greater fluidity, and contemporary decor has been introduced.
