Une maison réinventée qui passe du minimalisme au maximalisme
Attention, cette maison va susciter des réactions extrêmes. Vous allez l'adorer ou la rejeter en bloc, mais c'est un endroit hors du commun assez fascinant à découvrir. Le studio Mr Alex Tate Design a pris en charge ce lieu hors contemporain et en a fait une maison réinventée qui est passée du minimalisme d'une construction neuve à un écrin maximaliste. Débordante de personnalité, elle a oublié son origine ultramoderne et épurée, pour devenir une habitation théâtrale, refuge vibrant de couleurs, de textures et d’objets chargés d’histoire. Guidé par sa curiosité et son sens du récit, Alex Alonso, fondateur du studio, a imaginé un intérieur pensé comme une succession de scènes uniques.
La cuisine, autrefois linéaire, s’impose désormais comme le cœur visuel et social du rez-de-chaussée : îlot central, bar accueillant et mobilier bicolore composent un décor fonctionnel. La salle à manger joue, quant à elle, la carte victorienne : buffet débordant d’art et de curiosités, fleurs exubérantes et touches de romantisme anglais donnent le ton du concept “ModVic” (Modern Victorian) — un mélange audacieux entre modernité et esthétique du 19e siècle. À l’étage, les chambres rivalisent d’audace : papiers peints au plafond, tissus muraux, superpositions d’imprimés. Partout où le regard se pose dans cette maison réinventée, il est surpris par tant d'audace et d'inventivité.

The Mr Alex Tate Design studio took on this unconventional space and turned it into a reinvented home that has gone from the minimalism of a new build to a maximalist setting. Bursting with personality, it has shed its ultra-modern, refined origins to become a theatrical dwelling, a vibrant refuge of colours, textures and objects steeped in history. Guided by his curiosity and sense of narrative, Alex Alonso, founder of the studio, imagined an interior designed as a succession of unique scenes.
The kitchen, once linear, now stands out as the visual and social heart of the ground floor: a central island, a welcoming bar and two-tone furniture make up a functional setting. The dining room, meanwhile, plays the Victorian card: a sideboard overflowing with art and curiosities, exuberant flowers and touches of English romanticism set the tone for the ‘ModVic’ (Modern Victorian) concept — a bold blend of modernity and 19th-century aesthetics. Upstairs, the bedrooms rival each other in boldness: wallpaper on the ceilings, fabric wall coverings, layers of prints. Everywhere you look in this reinvented house, you are surprised by so much boldness and inventiveness.
