La ville d'Arcachon, sur la côte sud-ouest de la France, est divisée en plusieurs quartiers, et c'est dans celui de la Ville d'Hiver, autrefois le refuge des bourgeois bordelais pendant les mois les plus froids, que nous découvrons la maison d'Andrea, construite dans ce quartier privilégié, où la situation en hauteur permet d'avoir une vue au loin sur l'océan et où une rénovation de charme a transformé un lieu autrefois impersonnel en une jolie maison de famille de bord de mer.
Andrea et son mari ont acheté cette maison il y a deux ans et l'on depuis totalement rénovée. Ils ont été séduits par sa belle luminosité, et même s'il s'agit d'une maison contemporaine, ils ont réussi avec talent à lui donner le charme des vieilles maisons arcachonnaises. Le jardin, la vue sur la mer au loin, depuis le salon et la terrasse, et l'intérieur à la décoration douce font de cette maison le havre de paix dont ils rêvaient. The town of Arcachon, on the south-west coast of France, is divided into several districts, and it is in the one called the Ville d'Hiver (Winter town district), once the refuge of the Bordeaux bourgeoisie during the coldest months, that we discover Andrea's house, built in this privileged district, where the elevated situation allows a view of the ocean in the distance and where a charming renovation has transformed a once impersonal place into a pretty seaside family home.
Andrea and her husband bought this house two years ago and have since completely renovated it. They were seduced by its brightness, and although it is a contemporary house, they have skilfully managed to give it the charm of the old Arcachon houses. The garden, the view of the sea in the distance from the living room and the terrace, and the softly decorated interior make this house the haven of peace they dreamed of.
