Une maison pas comme les autres rénovée par Joanna et Chip Gaines
Joanna et Chip Gaines, les designers bien connus installés à Waco au Texas, créateurs de Magnolia, ont rénové cette maison pas comme les autres. Si ils nous ont habitués depuis quelques années à décliner le style "Ferme moderne", ils ont pris le parti de se renouveler dernièrement en adoptant un style plus vintage, presque anglais. Leur dernier projet n'est rien que moins qu'un château, ou une sorte de château nord-américain, ressemblant à une bâtisse classique constuite en Europe.
Le projet de la rénovation de cette maison pas comme les autres leur a trotté dans la tête pendant 20 ans. C'est un très grand bâtiment de 600m2 environ devant lequel ils sont passés pendant des années, dans le centre de cette ville texane qu'ils affectionnent particulièrement. Ils ont mis une année de longs travaux pour lui rendre son lustre et en faire cette demeure à la décoration classique chic pleine de couleurs sobres et profondes. Quel beau projet, sans doute un peu déstabilisant pour ceux qui apprécient leurs autres réalisations, mais comment ne pas être admiratifs devant le résultat?
Joanna and Chip Gaines, the well-known designers based in Waco, Texas, creators of Magnolia, have renovated this house like no other. If they have been accustomed to the "modern farmhouse" style for several years, they have recently decided to renew themselves by adopting a more vintage, almost English style. Their latest project is nothing less than a castle, or a kind of North American castle, resembling a classic building constructed in Europe.
The project of renovating this unusual house has been in their minds for 20 years. It is a very large building of about 600m2 that they have been walking past for years, in the centre of this Texas town that they love. It took them a year of painstaking work to restore it to its former glory and turn it into a home with a classic chic decor full of deep, sober colours. What a beautiful project, undoubtedly a little destabilizing for those who appreciate their other achievements, but how can one not be admiring of the result?
