C'est dans la région d'Aix en Provence, que Atelier Ordinaire pour l'architecture et Alexandre Reignier, architecte d'intérieur ont conçu et décoré cette maison qui revisite le mas provençal. Car avec sa façade en bois brûlé, selon la méthode japonaise appelée Shou Sugi Ban ou Yaki Sugi, elle est très différente des maisons traditionnelles rencontrées dans cette région. Protégée ainsi naturellement contre les insectes et les UV, elle offre un intérieur sobre et lumineux, fait d'un bois clair omniprésent.
