Même le chien dispose d’un coin intégré, preuve d’une réflexion menée jusque dans les détails. L’inspiration vient de leurs séjours réguliers à la montagne, avec un esprit chalet revisité façon scandinave. Les éléments d’origine de cette maison familiale des années 1930 restent lisibles, notamment grâce à la typique cheminée à carreaux vert et crème. Its ground floor is now a vast, welcoming space that combines Scandinavian inspiration with reclaimed materials. This large living area has been redesigned to accommodate a busy family life. From the outset, the owners, parents of two daughters and owners of a dog, wanted a practical, warm and sustainable interior. The team at MAIN, assisted by Hideaway Interiors, designed an open-plan kitchen-diner and living room that flow seamlessly into one another. Reclaimed oak walls structure the space, while bespoke storage solutions make everyday tasks easier. A generous central island is perfect for meals, homework and conversations, without ever getting in the way.
Even the dog has its own built-in corner, proof that every detail has been carefully thought out. The inspiration comes from their regular trips to the mountains, with a Scandinavian-style chalet feel. The original features of this 1930s family home remain visible, notably thanks to the typical green and cream tiled fireplace. In the kitchen, black wooden fronts contrast with light surfaces and oak, adding depth and character. Reclaimed and recycled materials are used throughout, demonstrating that aesthetics and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.
